With Shoot, a collaboration between the Equal Opportunity Team at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and IFFF Dortmund+Cologne, we want to offer up-and-coming talented filmmakers a platform and financial support.

The award is endowed with 1,000 € and will be presented for the seventh time in 2026 and goes to Lenia Friedrich for her work So ist das Leben und nicht anders.

From the Jury’s Statement: »In her latest film So ist das Leben und nicht anders, she finds a formally distinctive visual language that is not intrusive but persistently explores its subject: memories, ruptures and the things that are too often overlooked or silenced in women’s everyday lives are sensitively interwoven with poetic clarity. In a calm, unhurried pace, the film leads us into a cocoon of memories where time doesn’t flow along a linear path, but appears tentative, fragile and full of meaning.«
