Hansol Kim
Großmutter und Hausfrau Young-E Son verwandelt sich in den virtuellen Popstar Big Hand. Ein Leben voller häuslicher Pflichten liegt hinter ihr, während die Popkultur Jugend und Selbstliebe feiert. Young-E Son erhebt ihre Stimme und lässt uns an ihrem täglichen Leben als ältere koreanische Frau teilhaben. Dabei dient Kimchi, die Fermentierung von Kohl, als Scharnier zwischen Selbstbehauptung und der fragwürdigen Inszenierung von Frauen im K-POP.
Hansol Kim
Hansol Kim, born 1994 in Seoul, lives and works in Kassel. She has been studying at Kunsthochschule Kassel art school since 2021. Kim’s curiosity about her surroundings often leads to intense observation, where she documents ordinary people and seemingly insignificant events through various media such as videos, installations, photographs and performances. Kim explores the meaning of life that emerges through the accumulation of these small events.
