Art on the MOve

ART ON THE MOVE

Art on the MOve brings film and art closer together. The series shows artistic short films surrounded by paintings, installations and sculptures in the exhibition rooms of the Museum Ostwall.

The film series complementing the exhibition range from Bauhaus to punk, from celluloid to desktop films, from (queer) motherhood to #metoo, encouraging exciting feminist debates between the audience, curators and artists.

Art on the MOve sets our view on art in motion, expands exhibitions with new perspectives and highlights the artistic aspects of cinema.

Artists featured in the series are, among others, Maya Deren, Vivienne Dick, AK Dolven, VALIE EXPORT, Barbara Hammer, Guerilla Girls, Rebecca Horn, Sanja Ivekovic, Belinda Kazeem-Kaminski, Anna Maria Maiolino, Ana Mendieta, Yoko Ono, Lotte Reiniger, Elisabeth Wilms, Carolee Schneemann, and Silke Schönfeld.

Admission to all events is free. Registration is not required.

In cooperation with Museum Ostwall.

The image shows a painting depicting people on different canvases. Monkey heads are stuck on their heads, and the words ‘One is not enough!’ are written above.
