Art on the MOve: women Bauhaus artists – art or kitchen?

The current MO_collection presentation shows how founding director Leonie Reygers adopted ideas from the Bauhaus in the 1950s and used design and architecture exhibitions in an attempt to influence the everyday lives of the inhabitants of Dortmund. This programme is dedicated to the Bauhaus kitchen, using a multi-faceted approach to illustrate how design still has an impact on women’s care work today.

Short-film programme showing two Bauhaus films about the famous Frankfurt Kitchen designed by Viennese architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky and Martha Rosler’s groundbreaking video Semiotics of the Kitchen (1975).

Guest: Prof. Dr. Änne Söll, Professor of Modern Art History, Cultural and Gender History at Ruhr University Bochum
