Accessibility

Almost all of the films we show have German or English subtitles. This is because we only show original versions, so most are accompanied by translated subtitles.

Detailed information about language versions and subtitles can be found on our website under each film listing and in the programme booklet timetable.

Here is a guide to the abbreviations used for the different language versions and subtitles:

OFe: Original English version without subtitles
OmU: Original version with German subtitles
OmeU: Original version with English subtitles
oW: Without words
dt. UT: German subtitles
dt. OmeU: German original version with English subtitles

Filmhaus Köln – Cinema and festival centre
Foyer and cinema hall accessible via lift, accessible for wheelchair users. Barrier-free toilet for wheelchair users available on the upper floor, accessible via lift. No induction loop available.

Cineplex Filmpalast 
The foyer and Cinema 1 are accessible and at ground level. Accessible toilets are located in the basement and can be reached by lift. An induction loop is available.

Filmforum NRW
Foyer and cinema hall barrier-free access for wheelchair users, accessible via lift (access via dome plate level). Barrier-free toilet for wheelchair users available on the upper floor on the cinema level. Induction loop available (can be handed out by the projectionist on request).

KHM Aula 
The foyer and auditorium are accessible, with level access; staff are on hand to assist with entry. An accessible toilet is available via the lift.

Odeon 
No accessible access to the cinema auditoriums (access via stairs only; no lift available). Seats in the auditorium for wheelchair users are available on request. An accessible toilet for wheelchair users is available. No induction loop available.

Orangerie Theater
The auditorium is accessible (step-free main entrance and ramp with handrail, automatic opening of entrance doors, access to the auditorium via 6 steps with handrails on both sides or via a lift, wheelchair-accessible pathways and door widths). Wheelchair spaces with seating for a companion in the auditorium. Accessible toilets provided. Disabled parking spaces available.

Schauburg
No barrier-free access to the cinemas (access only via stairs, no lift available). No barrier-free access to the toilets (access only via stairs, no lift available). No induction loop available.
