Blind Date | MAMA
Catrine Val
Blind Date | MAMA portrays the intimate relationship between internationally acclaimed dancer Andrius Strakele and his blind mother. We watch as Andrius moves around his mother in her cramped flat. His movements are floating, then abrupt, challenging and also appealing. Dominating the short film are his dance movements to music he’s listening to on his headphones, which we don’t hear as the audience. Yet the dance to his own rhythm also seems like a form of communication between mother and son.
