One hot summer day, Şirin drives through Berlin-Neukölln to pick up her aunt Bihar. The two embark on a road trip to the countryside. Once there, family secrets, memories of Bihar’s origins and conflicts over identity and queerness surface. Bihar reveals her long-kept secret before the pair continue their journey together the next morning. A journey filled with memories and unspoken truths.

Emine Demir ist Regisseur*in, Drehbuchautor*in und Dichter*in. Demirs Filme und Texte befassen sich mit Rassismus, Queer-Feminismus, Familie, staatlicher Unterdrückung sowie Fragen von Zugehörigkeit und Sehnsucht. Demir ist Kind türkischer Migrant*innen und schloss einen Master in Friedens- und Konfliktforschung ab. Gefördert von der Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung folgte der Master Regie an der Filmarche Berlin. Demirs Dokumentarfilm 15 YIL wurde international rezipiert.
