Hanteln für Heten
Laura Schinzel
Hanteln für Heten recounts Fabi’s first visit to the queer gym OUT-FIT for women and gender-diverse people. With a side stitch and nervousness but harbouring quiet hope, the 19-year-old lesbian enters a room meant to be a safe space – but she initially doesn’t feel at ease. Between training equipment and glances that read her as straight, Fabi’s wish to belong starts to waver. Is she really welcome at OUT-FIT? By learning to open up and be vulnerable, Fabi gradually finds her place in a community that challenges her – and accepts her. A moving, 10-minute coming-of-age story about identity, visibility and lesbian codes.
