Sinkflug
Loss of Altitude
Hoàng Quỳnh Nguyễn
Where are we ultimately headed if everyone wants their country back? Sinkflug is a film that centres on a relationship – while covering much more than that. It’s about guilt, about following the crowd, about the silence between two people that suddenly becomes political. In her film, Hoàng Quỳnh Nguyễn doesn’t show a purely dystopian world, but a very contemporary one. And one thing becomes clear: »The future is not a metaphor – it is the continuation of what is happening now.«
