Hematic Cultures is about interspecies relationships, light experimentation and the ability to use the body as a territory. »After coating my own film with menstrual blood and silver to catch the light, I left the film to decompose over a period of six months. During this time, I took samples of the micro fauna colonising the film. I recorded the fungus growing on the film and then combined these images with 16 mm film.«

Anaís Córdova-Páez alias LaNïn, geboren 1989 in Quito, widmet sich der Frage, wie Politik, Ökologie, Gender und bewegte Bilder im Zeitalter des Internets in Dialog treten. Ihre Arbeit stellt die Fürsorge in den Mittelpunkt, um die kreativen Prozesse der Filmproduktion und -ausstellung zu hinterfragen. Sie arbeitet mit Künstler*innen und Kollektiven aus dem globalen Süden zusammen. In ihren Projekten als Schöpferin, Kuratorin und Produzentin geht es um Umwelt, Autonomie und Vergnügen aus einem dekolonialen Blickwinkel.
