MOSAIK
Gina Wenzel
MOSAIK captures a city’s cultural diversity in poetic images. Behind windows and walls, people live their lives, pursue their interests and chase their dreams, and the film weaves these narratives into a seamless flow. To mark its 50th anniversary, NRWKS 2024 organised a competition inviting citizens – regardless of their artistic backgrounds – to express their personal experiences with cultural diversity through art. MOSAIK is the winning entry from Dortmund.
Gina Wenzel
Gina Wenzel absolvierte 2012 zunächst ein Studium der Sozialpädagogik in den Niederlanden. Später begann sie als freiberufliche Dokumentarfilmerin und spezialisierte sich auf soziale Themen. Es folgte ein Studium an der Fachhochschule Dortmund im Studienfach Film und Sound. 2019 absolvierte sie ihr postgraduales Studium mit dem Schwerpunkt Drehbuch und Regie an der KHM Köln mit Auszeichnung. Ihre Kurzfilme liefen weltweit auf Filmfestivals und haben Filmpreise gewonnen.
