In mothercity, Dortmund’s ageing urban space becomes an analogy for the ageing female body. Through a poetic stream of consciousness, the film takes viewers on a journey of remembrance, presenting the protagonists’ thoughts while reflecting the deep connection between body and city. Two older women engage in a poignant dialogue with their younger selves, exploring changes in both their surroundings and their own self-perception.
