Nina Yuen
»Now, they are coming together.« (Nina Yuen)
Off-screen we hear antlers crashing against each other: two deer are fighting. On-screen we see the film-maker’s hands recreating and describing the scene with two ferns, two leaves, two daisies and other material. Poetically, personally and comically – this is how Nina Yuen links language and her visually minimalist images in their relationship to nature.
During the festival Lea will also be shown on the website of the Dortmund Hartware MedienKunstVerein.
Nina Yuen
Nina Yuen erwarb einen Master of Fine Arts am Bard College und einen B.A. an der Harvard University. 2010 absolvierte sie eine Residenz an der Rijksakademie, Amsterdam. Yuen verschmilzt in ihren Videos Persönliches mit Universellem. Ihre Arbeiten waren Bestandteil zahlreicher Gruppenausstellungen und wurden unter anderem in Kunstinstitutionen in Amsterdam, New York und Oslo gezeigt sowie bei Filmfestivals wie dem New Media Festival in Seoul und dem Rotterdam Film Festival.
