The »Queen of the Night« aria from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute forms the basis for a linguistic reworking as a German-style tongue twister. In the ritual potato circle, Hansol Kim, decked out in Jack Wolfskin gear and wielding an asparagus microphone, reduces the pinnacle of German-language cultural heritage to absurdity. Hansol Kim
Hansol Kim, born 1994 in Seoul, lives and works in Kassel. She has been studying at Kunsthochschule Kassel art school since 2021. Kim’s curiosity about her surroundings often leads to intense observation, where she documents ordinary people and seemingly insignificant events through various media such as videos, installations, photographs and performances. Kim explores the meaning of life that emerges through the accumulation of these small events.
