Abortion Party
Julia Mellen
A hypnotic, breathless, and neurotic monologue. It all starts with an abortion party, organised by the then 20-year-old director to raise money for her abortion – featuring neighbours, flatmates, gang members and bedbugs. Complicated relationships, bizarre memories and uncompromising settling of scores are laid bare, blending with a raw and minimalist DIY aesthetic. A wonderfully honest reckoning.
