Ten-year-old Lili loves to swim with her friends, all of them boys. For a school trip to a water park, she’s told by her parents to put on a bikini top. But she refuses. Why should she hide her chest when her friends don’t have to? The group of friends comes up with a creative solution. This film playfully challenges gender norms, underscores the value of loyalty in friendships and advocates a healthy relationship with our bodies.
Justine Gauthier
Justine Gauthier studied cinema in Montréal and graduated from the University of Québec in 2016. In 2017, she directed her first short film L’appartement, which ran successfully in festivals around the world. She also works as editor for short films and feature films such as A Brother’s Love by Monia Chokri (Cannes 2019). As a director, she likes to explore strong female characters who defy gender norms.
