Our festival archive, with over 10,000 films, contains classics, historical finds and plenty of curiosities. Karola Gramann is a feminist film scholar and one of the founders of the Kinothek Asta Nielsen in Frankfurt. Her interest in film goes back to the 1970s and the emergence of film studies in England at that time; Gramann played an active role in promoting the subject in Germany. Her contributions to lesbian filmmaking as an academic and curator are still seen as groundbreaking by today’s younger generation. We are honoured and delighted that Karola Gramann is presenting a special film from our archive this year.
