When Adeline dances, time stands still. Her arms move energetically, she stomps with her feet and her face twists into a silent, furious scream. Her movements resemble those of a robot and an elf in alternation. Adeline is performing the krump. A street dance that originated in Los Angeles in response to racism and police violence, it soon gained popularity in Europe. This summer, Adeline faces a special challenge.
Agnes Lisa Wegner
Agnes Lisa Wegner is a German director and screenwriter. She studied American studies and film studies in Berlin, as well as African-American studies at Harvard University. After working for human rights organisations such as Pro Asyl, she became a freelance filmmaker in 2013. Her award-winning documentaries focus on such topics as racism, human rights and solidarity.
