Lively, brightly clad, imaginative Elisa has a crush on Martin – but he doesn’t seem to notice her. Determined to catch his attention, she slowly starts to change – hiding her smile, abandoning her glasses and even giving up singing. With each step, she drifts further away from who she really is – until she realises that changing for someone else is not the answer. The film is a playful yet powerful appeal for self-acceptance, reminding us that we should not let the opinions of others define our worth.
Chelo Loureiro
Chelo Loureiro, who was born in 1958, is a Spanish producer and director who specialises in animated films. In 2007, she founded Abano Producións. Her work has earned her four Goya Awards, including one for her film Valentina in 2021. Loureiro is a passionate advocate for women in the film industry. She teaches at universities and in 2024 was honoured with the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes for her contributions to the visual arts.
