Second open call to Dortmund Goes Black 22/23

As part of the Black History Month, four Dortmund cultural institutions (IFFF Dortmund+Köln, Dietrich-Keuning-Haus, Dortmunder Kunstverein and Schauspiel Dortmund) founded a network last year to offer black artists the opportunity to express their creative and artistic work to show. Her work will be presented at a major festival in May 2022.

Now the network is starting the second open call for »Dortmund Goes Black 22/23«. For one year, six artists will once again be given a platform to present themselves and their art in the four institutions. The open call is aimed at all artists, cultural workers and curators who position themselves as Black, African, Afro-German and/or Afro-diasporic and would like to present a finished work between February 2022 and February 2023, to perform or to make it visible.

At the same time, artists are free to actively participate in designing the format next year. We are looking for six positions from the various artistic fields. The network offers each selected artist position a fixed sum of money of 2000 €. This covers accommodation and travel expenses.

Please submit a one to two-page description of your work with the technical requirements and materials in PDF format, if necessary with image and video materials to Stadtdrama@theaterdo.de.

The closing date for entries is February 20, 2022. You will find further information (in German Language) right here.
