Wintergreen (›Winterlieb‹ in German) is a very rare type of plant. Edith and Kito Penk know all about it and when they wander across the Muskau Heath, they take note of its disappearance. The edge of the open-cast mine is moving closer and closer to their village. They fight to protect the countryside they love. The kitchen is a place of retreat and a space for storytelling. This is part two of an account of the quietly determined campaign to stop open-cast mining in Upper Lusatia – accompanied by Sorbian music and poetry.

Maja Nagel
Die Künstlerin Maja Nagel ist seit 1996 an Animationsfilm-Projekten beteiligt. Ihr Debütfilm das erste mal wurde 1998 beim Internationalen Filmfestival in Salerno, Italien mit dem Preis für Animation ausgezeichnet. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Eula und Dresden.

Julius Günzel
Julius Günzel ist Autodidakt an der Kamera und arbeitet vor allem im dokumentarischen Bereich. Er lebt in Dresden. Neben seiner Kameraarbeit gibt er dort Filmkurse an Ganztagsschulen.
