A housewife dreams of a world where gender roles are reversed. She attends a feminist rally where protesters formulate radical demands. In her dream, she encounters male nannies and female police officers. Taking a politically incorrect approach, she turns the tables: In her vision, women behave like guys and take centre stage in public life, while the men have to look after the children. Although this young wife’s aspirations for self-determination in The Suffragette’s Dream are just daydreams, her anger at the prevailing gender structures manifests itself, at least for a brief moment, until she wakes up and is thrust back into her traditional role.
