Swallow
Laure Prouvost
Swallow takes us to somewhere in Italy, to a secluded waterfall under an azure sky. The images that Laure Prouvost has put together are a kind of homage to the genre of panoramic painting and to Italian journeys. Images that flare up, only to disappear at once. Naked women bathing in shallow water, fleeting pictures of birds, sparkling spring water and bare feet on the grass as raspberries burst. Swallow is a meditation on pleasure, a play on that historical idea of visiting the Mediterranean in search of inspiration. Meanwhile, complementing the individual images, fragments of sound reinforce the overall impression. The humming of bees, the twittering of birds and breath craving for air all punctuate this ten-minute collage.
