From instruments to houses and trampolines: Ella the fairy and her friend, a spider, can create anything they can imagine from luminous spiders’ threads. That is, until the two of them disagree on their next project: Should it be a boat or a castle? A confusing tangle puts their friendship to the test. This fairy tale-like short film is about imagination, creative drive and teamwork.
An Vrombaut
An Vrombaut is an animation film-maker, book author and illustrator. She was born in Belgium and studied animation at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and at the RCA in London. Her short films have been screened at prestigious festivals around the world, including Chicago, Ottawa, Seoul, Berlin (where she gained an honourable mention from the children’s film jury for The Tie) and Annecy (winning an award for Little Wolf as best debut in 1993). Vrombaut also writes scripts for pre-school series.
