Maya Steinberg
Maya Steinberg, herself a secular Israeli, spends a few weeks in an Orthodox community in Galilee in order to trace her father’s late religious awakening. He does not appear in the film himself. Observing the Orthodox and ultra-Orthodox faithful leads to a queer feminist questioning of religious structures: Where is there a place for women? Can there be room for queer women, for one’s own queerness?
