A group of Afro-Caribbean women meet on a remote beach and debate affectation, sexuality, sensuality, love, care, joy and memory. Conversation revolves around decolonisation and spirituality. Their meeting ends in a ritual expressing deep gratitude to their ancestors and the sea. The aesthetics, conception and collaborative approach of Black Symposium defy the norms common to other film productions.

This film deals with the experience of violence.
