On the Threshold of Liberty
Heidi Tikka
This experimental film combines the deconstruction of the image into repetition and rhythm that is typical of analogue structural film with a language that is influenced in form and content by 1980s feminist and semiotic discourse. Visually and linguistically, Heidi Tikka attempts to challenge the Freudian notion of the split. The poetic, yet sensually haptic style of this work continued to define her work.
