»Meine Liebe came about on the spur of a moment when I […] had to pick the only tomato fruit from the tomato plant that I had bought months before. For me it was a special moment, as I’d developed an emotional relationship with the plant. I remember asking the people closest to me if they wanted to participate in a kind of ceremony but, as expected, nobody really seemed interested. So this film became a way of paying tribute to the life of the tomato plant.«

Dolce Gusto Award for Best Portuguese Short Film – IndieLisboa 2020
Clara Jost studied directing at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School. She directed two short films, which both won awards at Portuguese film festivals. She is also an actor and works regularly as a film editor. In 2020 she began studying film in the master’s programme at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) at HOGENT (Hogeschool Gent).
