In Your Face

A face is projected onto a face. The everyday reflections focused on In Your Face are the projections of other people onto one’s own appearance. These external projections from others mix together, creating a whirling vortex. Someone presses the pause button and reduces everything to the essentials again: eyes, nose, mouth—and click: Finding oneself so that self-reflection becomes possible.

Anika Schäfer ist Schriftstellerin, Spoken-Word-Künstlerin und Filmemacherin. Sie beschäftigt sich in ihren Arbeiten unter anderem mit philippinisch-deutschen Identitäten und Anti-Asiatischem Rassismus. In Your Face ist ihr erster Film, der beim Queer BIPoC Filmcamp des Dortmunder Sunrise Jugendtreff entstanden ist.
