I (heart) Jack LaLanne: A Cartoon Memoir

One of film-maker LeAnn Erickson’s earliest childhood memories is of rushing home after kindergarten to watch Jack LaLanne’s TV show and join in the fitness guru’s exercises. In this animated film, she tells the story of her coming-out as structured through the life of the legendary Jack LaLanne. In various time jumps, the film deals with childhood heroes as well as later disabilities.

Her work has appeared on television, in media and art galleries, and gained attention at international film festivals. Her documentary Top Secret Rosies: The Female Computers of WWII has won awards, including the Ruth Landfield Award.
