Vidi Bilu
Jerusalem, 1966. The year before the outbreak of the Six-Day War. In a crumbling old building in the centre of the city, on the third door, lives a small family. Eli, the father, is at work all day. His wife Ruthy is locked up inside her own world and spends her days in bed, reading the thick novels her husband brings her from the library. Michal, their eleven-year-old daughter, is lonely and bored and seeks attention from the other tenants and attractions around the building. One day, when Ruthy decides to get out of bed, the apparent peace and serenity of the house is violated.

Vidi Bilu
Die Regisseurin und Drehbuchautorin Vidi Bilu wurde 1959 in Jerusalem geboren. Sie studierte Fotografie am Hadassah College in Jerusalem, anschließend Film an der Beit Zvi School of Arts, ebenfalls in Jerusalem. Seit ihrem Abschluss in 1998 drehte sie diverse Werbefilme – unter anderem für die israelische staatliche Lotterie Mifal HaPayis und die israelische Grüne Partei und war außerdem als Cutterin und Produzentin tätig. Ihr Debütfilm Close to Home, bei dem sie gemeinsam mit Dalia Hagar Regie führte, gewann 2006 auf den Internationalen Filmfestspielen Berlin den Preis der Confédération Internationale des Cinémas D’Art et Essai (C.I.C.A.E. Award) und zuvor den Preis für das beste Drehbuch beim Jerusalem International Film Festival 2005. Insgesamt war er in über 30 Filmfestivals weltweit nominiert – darunter beim Miami Film Festival und dem Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
