GETTING UP TO TRICKS WITH ANIMATED FILM: FAIRY TALES

Film still from Wolly Wolf. A knitted doll with long black hair and red cap hugs a knitted gray animal

With Kyne Uhlig, Nikolaus Hillebrand

This programme section combines various animated film styles with the contents of some well-known fairy tales. Kyne Uhlig and Nikolaus Hillebrand, who are based in Cologne, will be presenting examples of their own work and that of others, introducing their latest project and helping the children to produce a live animation. The results will be set to music on the spot and transferred to the big screen. In this way, the children are guaranteed a fascinating look into the technique of stop trick animation. Ms Uhlig and Mr Hillebrand regularly work for the WDR, the West German Broadcasting Corporation, and its Sendung mit der Maus (The Programme with the Mouse), a highly acclaimed TV show for kids. Their films focus on the everyday world of younger children and the simple and intriguing things of life.
