As part of the Kulturrucksack NRW programme, Dortmund | Cologne International Women’s Film Festival is organising a photo workshop for girls in the first two weeks of the summer holiday with Dutch artist Desiree Palmen, who has designed this year’s key visual.
In similar camouflage style and in keeping with this year’s focus theme »Image Traps«, 12- to 14-year-old girls will produce photographic works that will be subsequently presented in an exhibition. Participants will take a close
look at optical illusions and themselves become producers of image traps. The workshop is an opportunity to consider and actively address issues relating to what is original and what is fake. By consciously considering their bodies as camouflaged objects, the young participants will develop a relationship to themselves and their environment, discuss issues about identity, and transform the public space into a place of art.
