Do You Speak Film?
Young refugees curate a festival programme
What is a film if it dispenses with dialogue? What forms of cinematic expression can tell a story without language and move a plot forward in a targeted way? In our Do You Speak Film? programme, we show short films that are thought-provoking in very different ways – using little to no dialogue. During a workshop, a team of young people who have experienced displacement and migration compile their own programme for this film section before the festival. It is presented by the young curators themselves and aimed specifically at international classes and special needs schools. We invite everyone to discover the language of film and join in discussions in different languages after the screenings.
Free admission!
Workshop participants: Anja Luhovets, Oleksandr Mukhin, Vladislav Mukhin, Maria Prysakar, Mariia Schmunk
Workshop leader: Angela Matianis
The programme is part of the project Digital dabei! 8.0 – Junge Geflüchtete partizipieren durch aktive Medienarbeit (Digital participation 8.0 – young refugees participate in active media work). In cooperation with LAG Lokale Medienarbeit NRW e. V., funded by the Ministry for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Refugees and Integration of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
