Based on the theory that biographies are constantly evolving and per se bring together contradictions, the film explores the elusive identities of ghosts through the character of actress and queen of Indonesian horror Suzzanna van
Osch. Ghosts are essentially ambiguous creatures. Their miraculous powers allow them to overcome physical laws and social norms so that they can freely indulge in their desires, emotions and longings for revenge.
Katharina Duve
Katharina Duve, who was born in Schwerin in 1980, studied at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg, where she also lives. In her »Narration der Vielfalt« (»narration of variety«), she creates essay films, music videos, live video lecture performances, assemblages or costumes which tackle such subjects as improbable identities, diverse body concepts end economic exploitation chains. In 2018, she took part in an artist-in-residence programme organised by the Goethe-Institut of Indonesia.
