It all starts with an abortion party, organised by the then 20-year-old director to raise money for her abortion – featuring neighbours, flatmates, gang members and bedbugs. Complicated relationships, bizarre memories and uncompromising settling of scores are laid bare, blending with a raw and minimalist DIY aesthetic. A wonderfully honest reckoning.

Julia Mellen ist eine brasilianisch-amerikanische Filmemacherin, die in Madrid lebt. Ihr erster Film Yung Lean, Please be my Yung Love wurde unter anderem beim London Short Film Festival und im Metrograph Theater in New York gezeigt. Sie wurde außerdem im Filmmaker Magazine in der Rubrik 25 New Faces of Independent Film vorgestellt und später zusammen mit Jodie Mack für Metrograph at Home interviewt.
