Ten-year-old Lili loves to swim with her friends, all of them boys. For a school trip to a water park, she’s told by her parents to put on a bikini top. But she refuses. Why should she hide her chest when her friends don’t have to? The group of friends comes up with a creative solution. This film playfully challenges gender norms, underscores the value of loyalty in friendships and advocates a healthy relationship with our bodies.

Justine Gauthier studierte Film in Montréal und schloss 2016 ihr Studium an der Universität von Québec ab. 2017 drehte sie ihren ersten Kurzfilm L’appartement, der international erfolgreich auf Festivals lief. Sie arbeitet auch als Cutterin für Kurzfilme und Spielfilme wie A Brother’s Love von Monia Chokri (Cannes 2019). Als Regisseurin erforscht sie gerne starke weibliche Charaktere, die sich über Geschlechternormen hinwegsetzen.
