October 16: »Becoming Black« at »Feminist Time Travel« by PQF at Yorck-Passage Kino, Berlin

»Feminist Time Travel – When are we finally here?« Together with actress and author Dayan Koduan, our curator Stefanie Görtz is contributing three film programs to Pro Quote Film‘s new film series in the first block. The series aims to »trace the historical development and transformation of feminist themes in film over the decades, but also to emphasize the continuity of the problems in feminist discourse.« @feministtimetravel

After opening the series in September with Alles wird gut by Angelina Maccarone, Becoming Black by Ines Johnson-Spain will now be screened at Berlin’s Passage-Kino on October 16. The autobiographical documentary about a black girl in a white GDR family is a clever and exciting reflection on belonging, social norms, family concepts and systemic racism. The director will be a guest at the film discussion with Stefanie Görtz. Info
