This film features the WhatsApp chats between an Austrian activist and two Syrian refugees, who made their way to Germany along with their cat. In Germany they are now housed in unbearable conditions in a refugee reception centre. But using photos taken using smartphones, the centre’s residents start a revolt that attracts public attention and forces a response from the manager of the camp.

Lisbeth Kovacic
After initially working in the field of theatre, Lisbeth Kovacic then studied Theatre, Film and Media Science in Vienna and graduated from the Kolleg für Fotografie. From 2001 to 2003, she worked in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as curator of the Mostar Intercultural Festival and the Short Film Festival of Mostar. She graduated with a distinction from the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts (in Post- Conceptual Art Practices and Performative Art) in 2011. She lives mainly in Vienna, working as a photographer, cinematographer and visual artist.
