The Turnip

A seed that is planted in the soil grows into a turnip. But what actually happens underground during this process? Naeris is based on an old Estonian fairy tale about ownership, solidarity and betrayal. The more the turnip grows and the bigger it gets, the more pressing one question becomes: Who actually owns the fruits of the earth?

Piret Sigus (1976) works as an animation artist and film director. After graduating from the Estonian Academy of Arts, she set up the animation studio Animailm.

Silja Saarepuu (1973) (1973) is also a freelance artist and film-maker and a graduate of the Estonian Academy of Arts. She describes herself as an interdisciplinary artist.
