Aymara belongs to two worlds – Swiss and South American – but feels at home in neither. Her Afro hair, in particular, marks her otherness and, against her mother’s wishes, she decides to straighten it. To capture this inner conflict, the film embraces a sensory, physically intimate aesthetic in both image and sound, using close-ups that let you almost feel the hair – curly and straight, cold and warm.
Céline Lancini
Die 1998 in der Schweiz geborene Céline Lancini, die kolumbianische Wurzeln hat, entwickelte ihre Leidenschaft für audiovisuelle Medien als Autodidaktin. Sie absolvierte ein Diplom in Visuellem Design am CISA – Conservatorio Internazionale di Scienze Audiovisive in Locarno. Seit 2009 nimmt sie Schauspielunterricht und ist Mitglied einer Mailänder Mode- und Schauspielagentur mit Rollen in Film, Werbung und Musikvideos.
