Journals, photos, smartphone videos: Iona pieces together her life like an audiovisual collage. She speaks about her anger towards her mother, who shares parenting with a friend, about menstruation, boys and dates. The absence of her father intensifies Iona’s inner turmoil. What makes a family – a family tree or a feeling? The filmic fragments of Iona’s youth become pieces of a puzzle that allow her to explore both her own identity and her relationship with her mother.
