»Do you mind rats? Because I have some …«
Women who keep rats as pets – lots of rats – don’t have conventional households. And their sense of smell, let’s say, has adapted. Members of the Fancy Rat Society don’t care what other people think. They love the sensitive animals too much. Minkie Spiro’s open-minded, well-disposed view of these unusual companion species is both likeable and enlightening. – Stefanie Görtz
