Omelia Contadina
JR
The difficult livelihoods of small farmers from the Alfina plateau in Italy is the starting point for this unique homage. Together with the region’s inhabitants, JR and Alice Rohrwacher create a funeral ritual in which a culture
lays itself to rest. This cinematic performance is suffused with life, to commemorate a culture that is thousands of years old and to prevent it from disappearing.
JR
French street artist JR gained wide acclaim with the project Women Are Heroes, about women and their lives under adverse conditions in slums such as those in Rio de Janeiro and Phnom Penh. In 2011 he won the TED Prize.
