Lea is 18, fresh out of school and soaking up the summer – pools, parties, sunrises. When she realises she’s pregnant, she knows what she wants and quietly navigates the bureaucracy of obtaining an abortion. While everyone else continues to party, she measures time in days, appointments and breaths. With near-documentary intimacy with its compelling lead, the film treats abortion not as a taboo but as a lived experience – concrete, sober and firmly rooted in the present.

Ella Knorz
Ella Knorz, geboren 2000 in Heidelberg, ist eine deutsche Filmemacherin. Von 2020 bis 2025 studierte sie an der Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München szenische Regie. Sie arbeitet auch als Standfotografin für Arthouse-Kinofilme. Mit Neun Tage im August trat sie als Autorin, Regisseurin, Produzentin und Editorin in Erscheinung. Der Kurzfilm wird international auf Filmfestivals gezeigt.
