When Fien discovers that her 13-year-old sister Hannah is being threatened by a vicious crocodile that is making her increasingly thin and weak, she comes up with a plan: the crocodile must be defeated. A colourful, age-appropriate stop-motion depiction of the subject of eating disorders, which highlights not only the impact of the illness on the individual but also on their loved ones.
Lore Mechelaere
Lore Mechelaere, who was born in Belgium in 1993, completed a Bachelor’s degree in audiovisual arts at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten Gent in 2018, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in directing at the Toneelacademie Maastricht in 2022. While working as an assistant director at the Internationaal Theater Amsterdam, she produced Hannah & the Crocodile as her debut film, drawing inspiration from her own experiences.
