Hairy Legs
Andrea Dorfman
To shave or not to shave? When the then-teenager – and now filmmaker – Andrea Dorfman decides not to shave her legs, it sparks a years-long exploration of social expectations, norms and personal and public identity. This autobiographical documentary, told through vibrant paper animation, turns this experience into a sharp-witted journey of self-discovery, asking: Why is leg hair even an issue? Who benefits from making people feel ashamed?
