Shana Moulton’s alter ego Cynthia is a fragile person who struggles with her physical presence in the world. In a pastel coloured setting full of obscure symbols she experiments with alternative remedies and medicines. Every Angle is an Angel is an associative mix of TV esotericism, New Age spirituality and contemporary self-optimisation. The title has been borrowed from the 1978 book Journeys into the Bright World, in which astrologist Marcia Moore chronicles her mind and body-altering therapeutic experiments with the drug ketamine.

Shana Moulton
Shana Moulton, geboren 1976, macht Videos, Performances und Installationen. Sie hat einen B.A. in Kunst und in Anthropologie von der UC Berkeley und einen MFA von der Carnegie Mellon University. Ihre Arbeiten sind seit 2007 international in Gruppen- und Einzelausstellungen zu sehen, unter anderem im Museum of Modern Art in New York. Sie erinnern an die Videoästhetik der späten 1970er und 80er Jahre und liegen thematisch im Spannungsfeld von Konsum und kommerzialisierter Esoterik.
