Winter on a farm somewhere in East France: the cows don’t want to go out into the cold, wells freeze over and the roads are too icy to drive to the nearest town for a bit of relaxation. Yet Francis the apprentice is not bored. His boss Michel, a dairy farmer, spends a lot of time with him. Two very different personalities but – despite the fact that the one is the employer and the other the employee – they get on very well. A story told in wonderful pictures about an unusual friendship and about one of the rarer walks of life.
