Un Divan a Tunis
Arab Blues
Manele Labidi
A charming, light-hearted comedy set in Tunis at the time of the Arab spring.
Selma moved to France with her family as a child but now returns to her home country to work as a psychotherapist. At first there is great scepticism: »The people in this country are religious. They don’t need nonsense like that here,« claims her uncle. »You’re making a fool of us,« says her aunt. But before long people are queuing for an appointment. Selma gets them to talk about their feelings, while maintaining a professional distance, which for many is unusual: the sessions begin on time and are paid in full.
